The results for the 2025 JAMB exam show that a large number of candidates struggled to reach a decent score. Out of the nearly two million students who sat for the University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) – specifically 1,955,069 – more than 1.5 million of them scored below 200. This means a significant majority of those who took the test didn’t achieve a score typically needed for university admission.
However, there were some high-achievers. A total of 4,756 candidates scored above 320, indicating strong performance. Additionally, 7,658 candidates scored between 300 and 319.
An interesting detail is that 40,247 underage candidates were allowed to participate in the exam. Among this group, only 467 demonstrated exceptional ability by meeting a high score threshold.
This year’s JAMB results highlight a wide range of academic performance among the candidates seeking admission into higher education institutions.
