A woman identified as Gift has been arrested by operatives of the Nkpolu Police Division in Port Harcourt for allegedly cutting off the tip of her lover’s genitals.
The incident occurred on Bishop Okoye Street, Mile 3 Diobu, sparking panic in the neighbourhood after loud screams from the victim, Mr. Sunday, drew the attention of residents. According to eyewitnesses, a mob quickly gathered and attempted to lynch the woman before police arrived.
It took the swift intervention of the Divisional Police Officer and his team from Nkpolu Division to rescue the suspect from the angry crowd.
Mr. Sunday is currently receiving medical treatment for the injuries sustained during the attack.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said the suspect has been taken into custody while investigations continue.
