Gov Fubara Reaffirms Commitment to Unity, Peace, and Progress at Two-Year Mark

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the welfare, security, and peace of the people of Rivers State as he marked his second year in office.

In a commemorative address delivered on the anniversary of his inauguration, Governor Fubara thanked the people for the trust and support they have shown since electing him as the 7th democratically elected governor of Rivers State in 2023.

“Today marks exactly two years since I took the oath of office as your Governor,” Fubara said. “On May 29, 2023, I was sworn in following the clear and overwhelming mandate you gave me during the March 18, 2023 elections. Once again, I thank you for the trust, honour, and privilege to lead our beloved State.”

Acknowledging political challenges encountered along the way, the Governor maintained that his loyalty lies with the people and the long-term interests of Rivers State.

“I pledged to protect and promote our collective interests and ensure you enjoy the real dividends of democracy and good governance. That commitment remains unshaken.”

Delivering on Promises

Governor Fubara credited the resilience and support of Rivers people with enabling his administration to deliver on key electoral promises. He cited progress in sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and human capital development.

He emphasized that his administration remains people-focused, guided by a vision of inclusivity and sustainable development.

“These achievements would not have been possible without your unwavering support and hope in the brighter future we all envision for Rivers State,” he said. “For your sacrifices, contributions, and the roles you’ve played in your respective capacities, I say a heartfelt thank you.”

Call for Unity and Progress

Governor Fubara called on all stakeholders to set aside political differences and work together for the greater good of the state. He urged everyone to let their love for Rivers State guide their actions, stressing that peace and unity are critical to rebuilding and advancing the state.

“The time to rebuild is now. All future decisions will be made with the best interests and long-term prosperity of Rivers State at heart.”

Looking Ahead

As he looks to the future, Governor Fubara expressed hope and confidence in the state’s potential, vowing to work collaboratively with all citizens to build a model state that stands out across the country.

“As we reflect on the lessons of the past two years, I am hopeful for what lies ahead. I look forward to working hand in hand with all of you to build a State we can all be proud of—a Rivers State that stands as a model for the rest of Nigeria.”
