Aliyu Audu, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has tendered his resignation, citing deep concerns over the President’s growing political alliance with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
In a statement to released on Monday, Audu said his decision to step down was driven by “conscience, not rebellion,” and pointed to a growing wave of defections from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as evidence of internal discontent.

“The continued alignment with figures whose politics are at odds with the values we once championed has made it impossible for me to continue in good faith,” Audu stated, referencing Wike’s controversial presence in the administration, despite being a key member of the opposition during the last general election.
Audu becomes the third official to resign from President Tinubu’s administration in recent months, raising questions about unity and direction within the presidency. His exit adds to mounting pressure on the ruling party to address internal divisions and public concerns about its alliances and policy direction.
