Seventeen nominees submitted by President Bola Tinubu for key public service positions in Rivers State have officially declared their assets with the Code of Conduct Bureau and cleared all security vetting by the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Police.
This was disclosed during a screening session by the Senate ad hoc committee monitoring the administration of Rivers Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd). The screening was led by Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, who emphasized the Senate’s commitment to transparency and democratic process.
“None of them had any issue with security clearance, and they have all complied with asset declaration requirements,” Bamidele stated.

The nominees were presented by Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, and grouped according to their commission roles.
Next Steps
The Senate committee has not received any petitions or objections against the nominees. Bamidele confirmed that findings from the screening would be submitted at the next plenary session for final confirmation.
Screening for nominees to the Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board is scheduled to take place on Wednesday.
