Rivers State Excluded from FAAC Disbursement Amid N1.41 Trillion Allocation

In a surprising development, the Federal Government disbursed a total of N1.41 trillion among 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and six Area Councils, leaving Rivers State without any allocation for the month.

According to a statement shared by Woye (@woye1) on social media, the N2.668 trillion available for sharing was part of routine allocations from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC). However, the exclusion of Rivers State has sparked curiosity and concern among citizens and analysts alike.

The tax reform bill, which promises to benefit 33 states, was also highlighted, raising questions about equitable distribution and financial autonomy. Woye urged states to explore measures to enhance internal revenue generation and reduce reliance on FAAC.

The situation has raised speculations about potential political undertones, with some linking the development to recent local government elections in Rivers State. In response, a user asked, “Sir, could this be because of the recent local government elections?”

No official statement has been made to clarify the rationale behind Rivers State’s exclusion, but this development is expected to spark debates on fiscal policies and political dynamics in Nigeria.
