Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has issued a stern rebuke to the newly formed opposition coalition, accusing its leaders of exploiting the frustrations of ordinary Nigerians to advance their personal political ambitions.

Speaking during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Wike dismissed the coalition as a desperate gathering of failed politicians seeking relevance under the guise of rescuing Nigeria. He warned Nigerians not to be misled by what he described as a “coalition of convenience” formed out of selfish motives rather than a genuine desire for national progress.
“You had the opportunity before to change things,” Wike said. “You were governors, ministers, even vice president. Show us your scorecard. What did you do for the people? Now because you have personal issues, you say Nigerians are angry. Nigerians are angry because you failed them.”
Wike, who has been vocal against political opportunism, said the recent use of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a platform for the coalition is simply a recycled attempt to seize power without accountability.
