Federal Government Declares June 6th & 9th Public Holidays for Eid-ul-Adha

The Federal Government has announced Friday, June 6th, and Monday, June 9th, 2025, as public holidays to commemorate the Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

The declaration was made on Monday in Abuja by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.

Minister Tunji-Ojo extended his felicitations to all Muslim faithful, both within Nigeria and in the diaspora, on this significant occasion. He urged the Muslim Ummah to embody the spirit of sacrifice and faith exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him) and to utilize the period for prayers for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.

Furthermore, the Minister reassured Nigerians that the ongoing people-oriented reforms and initiatives, under President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” are designed to steer Nigeria back onto a path of progress.

In wishing the Muslim Ummah a joyous Eid-ul-Adha, Dr. Tunji-Ojo called upon all Nigerians to unite with the current administration in its endeavors to restore the nation’s glory.
