INEC Flags Off 2025 Continuous Voter Registration Exercise

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the kickoff of the 2025 Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, aimed at giving eligible Nigerians the chance to register to vote, update their voter details, or transfer their registration to a new location.

In a statement shared via INEC’s official social media platforms, the CVR exercise will take place in two phases:

Online Pre-Registration: Begins August 18, 2025, through the INEC portal at cvr.inecnigeria.org, allowing eligible citizens to start the process online.

In-Person Registration: Set to commence on August 25, 2025, at all INEC Local Government Area offices and designated registration centers across the country. Registration will run on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

INEC is calling on all eligible residents, especially first-time voters, to seize this opportunity. Voters who need to update their information or change their polling units are also encouraged to participate.

The Commission emphasizes that the CVR exercise is a vital step toward ensuring credible elections and broad voter participation. Residents of Rivers State are urged to follow INEC’s verified platforms for further updates and specific registration locations in their area.
