Great news for commuters along the Eleme axis of the East-West Road, key section of the ongoing reconstruction is set to open to motorists within the next ten days!
Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, made the announcement during an inspection tour of Federal road projects in Rivers State. The development promises significant relief for road users who have endured months of disruption due to construction on the vital economic corridor.
In addition, the Minister revealed that the second carriageway of the road is scheduled for completion by December 2025. Once both lanes are fully functional, the Federal Government plans to introduce toll gates and parks along the corridor to ensure sustainability and ease of use.
This progress marks a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to enhance infrastructure and improve transportation across the Niger Delta region.
