Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stirred political and media circles with bold statements made during a recent appearance on Arise TV’s The Morning Show. The aide passionately defended his principal while simultaneously launching verbal jabs at former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and media personality, Rufai Oseni.
Olayinka declared that politics has not hindered Wike’s performance as FCT Minister, stating:
“He is doing his job, and it is clearly visible.”
He emphasized that regardless of political distractions, Wike’s work ethic and results in Abuja speak for themselves, portraying the Minister as focused and unaffected by opposition narratives.

Olayinka challenged Amaechi’s political track record since his fallout with Wike. He referenced Amaechi’s past remark referring to Wike as a “child,” countering with:
“The ‘child’ led Amaechi’s campaign and brought him back as governor. Since their split, Amaechi has not won a single election.”
Olayinka underlined Wike’s pivotal role in Amaechi’s past political victories and framed Amaechi’s current irrelevance as proof of Wike’s enduring political influence.
In a separate moment that has gone viral, Olayinka lashed out at Arise News anchor Rufai Oseni, accusing him of bias and unprofessionalism. The clip, shared widely on social media, shows Olayinka saying:
“You should be doing animal documentaries, not journalism.”
This direct attack has sparked debate online, with many questioning the appropriateness of Olayinka’s tone while others defend his right to challenge media narratives he views as unfair or politically motivated. supporters of Wike praise Olayinka for his unapologetic defense, critics accuse him of undermining journalistic integrity and promoting divisive rhetoric.
