NDDC Pledges Transparent Selection for Foreign Scholarship Programme

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has moved to allay public concerns regarding the selection process for its prestigious foreign postgraduate scholarship scheme, assuring stakeholders of a transparent and merit-based approach.

Speaking on behalf of the NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, during a recent engagement, the Director of Special Duties, Alagbo Boma Iyaye, emphasized the commission’s commitment to fairness. “The ongoing selection process for the foreign postgraduate scholarship scheme is transparent and merit-based,” stated Alagbo Iyaye, conveying Dr. Ogbuku’s message.

Alagbo Iyaye underscored the NDDC’s dedication to empowering the Niger Delta’s bright minds with opportunities for advanced education at international institutions, a move the commission believes is crucial for the long-term development of the region.

Corroborating this stance, the NDDC’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Pius Ughakpoteni, reiterated the commission’s adherence to due process in all its operations, including the critical scholarship selections. “The Commission is committed to due process in the selection of qualified candidates for the foreign postgraduate scholarship scheme,” affirmed Mr. Ughakpoteni.

Furthermore, Mr. Ughakpoteni cautioned the public against heeding unsubstantiated rumors or misinformation circulating about the selection exercise. He assured that the NDDC would maintain open communication through its official channels to keep the public informed.

The NDDC’s latest pronouncements aim to build public trust in the integrity of its scholarship programme, a key initiative designed to foster human capital development within the Niger Delta region.
