Nigeria wasted no time asserting dominance, opening the scoring in the 14th minute through Cyriel Dessers, who calmly slotted home after a slick assist from S. Ismail. The Black Stars’ woes deepened just five minutes later when Razak Simpson inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, giving Nigeria a commanding two-goal cushion.
Ghana struggled to find their footing in a one-sided first half, failing to register a shot on target. Frustration mounted as Kamaradini Mamudu and Salis Abdul Samed were booked in quick succession for rash challenges in the 24th and 26th minutes, respectively.
The second half brought a renewed sense of urgency for the Black Stars. Substitute Brandon Asante-Thomas pulled one back in the 70th minute, giving Ghana a lifeline. Despite a spirited push, Nigeria’s defence held firm, sealing a hard-fought win and booking a date with Jamaica in the final.

While Ghana showed flashes of brilliance, it was Nigeria who capitalized on their chances and managed the game better when it mattered most.
