Rivers APC Slams Persistent Protests Against Sole Administrator, Cites Safety Concerns

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a strong condemnation of the continued protests targeting the state’s Sole Administrator. The party, led by Sir Tony Okocha, asserts that these demonstrations are a calculated move to destabilize the state and erode the authority of the appointed administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd.).

The Rivers APC expressed deep concern over the potential for escalating unrest and the implications for the safety of residents and businesses within the state. Sir Tony Okocha stated that the nature of the protests has become “an embarrassing level, raising serious concern about the safety of the lives of Rivers people and those living and doing business in the State.”

Furthermore, the APC highlighted disturbing reports of how the protests are allegedly being organized, claiming that “women are procured, mobilised, and instructed to invade and disrupt government programs and activities.”

The party emphasized that Rivers State deserves a peaceful environment conducive to progress and urged relevant authorities to step in and halt what they believe are externally influenced protests designed to sabotage the ongoing efforts to restore harmony and stability in the state. The APC maintains that these actions are counterproductive to the desired peace and reconciliation within Rivers State.
