The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, PSC, has taken decisive action following an alleged assault on a female patron at a nightclub on June 12, 2025.
According to an official update from the Command’s X handle, CP Adepoju personally interviewed both parties involved in the incident, which has sparked public outrage and concern across social media platforms.
Following the preliminary findings, the Commissioner directed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the area to immediately transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough investigation. He also ordered the arrest of all individuals implicated in the incident to facilitate an in-depth probe.
The Rivers State Police Command reiterated its commitment to justice and maintaining public trust, stating that no act of violence, especially against women, would be tolerated.
