Suspended Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara Addresses Supporters

Suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has stated that he is not desperate to return to office amidst the ongoing political tensions in the state. Speaking during a tribute event held in honor of the late elder statesman, Edwin Clark, Fubara used the occasion to caution his supporters against taking unauthorized actions on his behalf.

The embattled governor emphasized the importance of communication, urging his followers to consult him directly before issuing statements or taking steps in his name. He also warned of the dangers of misinterpreting messages, which he said could further inflame an already tense political climate.

“I want to be clear—my focus remains on peace and the progress of Rivers State,” Fubara said during the tribute. “I am not desperate to return to office. I urge my supporters to act with restraint and wisdom.”

The former governor’s remarks come amid continued political uncertainty following his controversial suspension from office. His appearance at the tribute event, themed “The Year of Joseph,” was seen as a symbolic gesture of patience, vision, and faith in divine timing.

Fubara’s calm and measured stance has drawn mixed reactions, with some lauding his maturity and others urging a more assertive approach to reclaim his position.

As Rivers State remains in a state of political flux, all eyes are on the next moves from both Fubara and the government officials managing the current transition.
