The Rivers State Police Command has launched a full investigation into the death of Godwin Akpakpan, a 300-level Computer Science student at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), who was allegedly shot by a security operative during a stop-and-search operation in Port Harcourt.
The tragic incident occurred off-campus and has sparked widespread concern. Authorities have transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough and discreet inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
