Wike strongly Accuses and criticized Governor Fubara Amid Political Feud

The rift between former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has deepened following fresh allegations of political overreach.

During a media chat in Abuja, Wike strongly criticized Fubara, accusing him of meddling in his family’s traditional affairs. The former governor expressed outrage over an alleged attempt by Fubara to remove a chief within Wike’s family and install another person in the position.

“Look at me, former governor, Minister of FCT. Governor (Fubara) has the temerity, the audacity, because he has money from the FAAC, because he has money from the IGR, to enter my family to remove a chief and make another person chief,” Wike declared during the televised briefing.

The statement comes amid an ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, where Fubara and Wike’s allies in the State Assembly have been locked in a power struggle. Analysts suggest that Wike’s remarks highlight the broader political battle over control and influence in the state, with traditional leadership now emerging as another flashpoint.

Governor Fubara has not yet responded to the allegations, but his administration has previously accused Wike’s loyalists of obstructing governance and undermining the state’s leadership.

As the political tension escalates, stakeholders have called for restraint, warning that the dispute could destabilize Rivers State further. The unfolding situation remains a key focus in Nigerian politics, as observers watch to see how both camps navigate the growing conflict.
