Wrestling Legend Hulk Hogan Dies at 71

Wrestling fans across the globe are mourning the loss of an icon, as WWE legend Hulk Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, has died at the age of 71.

According to reports, emergency services responded to Hogan’s Clearwater, Florida residence around 10 AM local time on Thursday, July 25, 2025, after he suffered cardiac arrest. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead just over an hour later. Authorities say there were no signs of foul play.

Hogan, known for his blonde mustache, ripped shirts, and signature catchphrases, was a defining figure in professional wrestling. He headlined the first-ever WrestleMania in 1985 and went on to become a six-time WWE Champion before being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.

Reactions have poured in from fans and fellow wrestling stars. WWE released a statement saying Hogan helped shape the global success of the sport in the 1980s. Wrestling greats like Ric Flair, The Undertaker, Triple H, and even WWE founder Vince McMahon have paid heartfelt tributes, remembering Hogan as a powerful performer, beloved friend, and global icon.

Beyond the ring, Hogan made waves in Hollywood with roles in films like Rocky III and Suburban Commando, and starred in the reality TV show Hogan Knows Best. His career wasn’t without controversy, including a highly publicized legal battle with Gawker and a temporary suspension from WWE in 2015.

Born in Georgia in 1953, Terry Bollea transformed into the larger-than-life Hulk Hogan — a name that became synonymous with professional wrestling and pop culture. He is survived by his children and leaves behind a lasting legacy as one of the most influential wrestlers of all time.
